Up for sale is a rare and large original Atlas/Map of Part of Harlem, New York with the original Polo Grounds, home of the New York Giants from 1885. The Polo Grounds was located at 110th Street and Fifth Avenue. The map covers from 110th Street to 117th Street and from Fifth Avenue to Eighth Avenue. Note that the Giants were to be forced out of this area and that the street grids were already mapped out. This Insurance Map is a larger size than the normal as it measures 22 x 32. It is on linen and in Ex+ condition.
Each building is and each color represents the type of structure. Yellow is wood, brown is stone, pink is brick. The Xs through the buildings indicate it is a barn or stable. The brown streets indicate cobblestone while green indicates macadamized pavement and white means it is unpaved. And the light green lines on the map show who the first recorded and original landowners were as well as the original streets.
